How do I create a hanging indent in Word on my Works Cited page?

http://asklibrary.com.edu/a.php?qid=33923

1.Place your cursor at the beginning of your second line, before any text

 2.Right click your mouse

3.Select Paragraph from the resulting pop up menu

4.Under Indentation, use the Special pull-down menu to select hanging

5.Use the By menu to select 0.5"

Example

Clinton, Bill. Interview by Andrew C. Revkin. “Clinton on Climate Change.” New York Times. New York Times, May 2007. Web. 25 May 2009.

  1. Thanks for helping with this, Vikki. As with most things Microsoft, there are multiple ways to achieve the hanging indent. Here's an easier process.

Highlight either the individual citation or the whole page of typed citations. Go to the tiny arrow in the lower right of the paragraph section on the ribbon. On the box that pops up, look for the indentation section and the drop-down that says "special." From that drop-down, select "hanging" then click OK.

That should perfectly reformat the indentation on citations, unless you have included tabs or other extra code in the original page.
