Color Printing at Last!

Good news for students! There is now a networked Pharos color printer in the E-Buidling Lab.  (Jag Spot)
It costs 50 cents a page and must be paid for with a JCard or VCard..  If students inquire about it, remind them to check the balance on their cards before they leave the library, because we are the only place on campus with a machine to add value.

Our Mission

Sometimes, especially in times of intense activity and stress, it's good to remember the basics of why we are here. Earlier this year the directors approved this mission statement:

GPC Libraries are partners in the learning, teaching, and research activities of a diverse multi-campus community. GPC Libraries support the mission of the college by providing information resources and services to support academic achievement and foster intellectual curiosity.

To accomplish our mission, GPC Libraries:

  •  Provide relevant and stimulating resources that support the college’s academic programs
  •  Teach skills to effectively locate, critically evaluate, and ethically use information
  •  Use technology and electronic resources to provide services and information on-campus and online
  •  Engage the GPC community through outreach programs promoting literacy, research skills, and library services
  • Maintain pleasant learning environments with excellent staff dedicated to patron service and teamwork
We Are Part of GPC's Mission
You've no doubt noticed the new GPC webpage and slogan:  A Better Way Forward. Be sure to also read the vision, mission, and goals of the college found at http://www.gpc.edu/News_and_Information/mission.php3 All of your efforts with and for our students is a life-changer. Remember that!

Charging tables for students

Students can now charge electronic devices using the library study tables located on the main floor. The dual charging hub can be used to plug up laptops, tablets, smartphones, and other charging devices. This will eliminate that dreadful low battery. While charging your devices please do not leave them unattended.

Voter Registration and New Technology

Great news for Georgia voters, Georgia Secretary of State- Brian Kemp launched two new technologies that will allow voters to registrar without having to visit the DMV or voter registration office.  The first is the online voter registration through “My Voter Page” http://mvp.sos.state.ga.us/LoginPage.aspx  and the second is through mobile application that will allow voters to use an Android or Apple device.
The official voter registration app brought to you by the Georgia Office of the Secretary of State. GA Votes allows Georgia citizens to register to vote online (OLVR ) and access their voter information through a mobile friendly version of the classic My Voter Page (MVP).

Features:
·         Online voter registration and address or name updates (requires valid GA Driver’s License or ID).
·         Electronically submits your voter registration to local county election officials.
Polling place directions via your favorite maps app.
·         E-mails a copy of your voter registration request.

If you do not have a valid GA Driver’s License or ID, visit www.sos.ga.gov/elections and click “Register to Vote” to access a fillable voter registration form that you can print and mail to your county elections office. It’s that easy!

Use MVP to view your voter information, elections information, sample ballots, polling place directions and early voting locations. Simply enter your first initial, last name, date of birth and county of registration.
