In the new consolidated GIL-Find and GIL classic, you may notice 2 new locations. Both Library North and Library South are downtown locations. Perimeter College campus library names will remain the same.
Many of our purchased ebooks haven't been added to the consolidated catalog yet, so look for them in databases such as the Gale Virtual Reference Library, ABC CLIO ebooks, Salem History, and Salem Literature. The most complete list of all Perimeter College managed databases and ebooks can be found at Databases A-Z GPC Libraries. Please remember that some of these electronic resources will only be accessible until our license expires on August 1st. By that time, hopefully the purchased ebooks will be in the catalog.
I know it's going to be confusing for a while. Please ask anything you or the students need to. Even though the full-timers might not have the answers, we will try to find out anything you need to know.

Consolidation of Databases
Please note this post from the GSU Library Intranet. (Remember to log in and read that often!)
From Kat Hart:
On Wednesday, May 18th Perimeter College and GSU-Atlanta’s GALILEO Database A-Z lists will be merged – this does NOT affect PC and GSU-Atlanta’s LibGuides database lists.
GALILEO Database A-Z lists must be merged in conjunction with the consolidation of PC and GSU-Atlanta’s catalogs. Both library websites will point to the same GALILEO Database A-Z list. All records will be branded with the GSU logo but there will be duplicate entries for some resources. Perimeter College resources will be tagged with “(Perimeter College)” in their title. PC users should use these links because PC databases will route through PC’s proxy server (GSU databases will route through GSU’s proxy server).
Collection Development is still in the process of negotiating resources so, as resources are renewed, duplicate entries will be removed from the combined GALILEO A-Z list if applicable.
If there are access problems, please be as specific as possible in your help desk tickets. Include URLs, screenshots and most importantly, the starting point (GALILEO link on PC library website, PC LibGuide E-Resources A-Z list, GSU Database A-Z list, EDS, the catalog, etc.).
If you have any questions, please contact Kat Hart, Electronic and Continuing Resources Librarian.
From Pat Z:
Essentially, all databases for which GPC had a license will still require GPC username and password until full consolidation later this summer. All GALILEO resources will need the GSU password beginning May 18th. If you have questions about the GSU password, look at the Ref Desk.

Requests Failing in GIL-Find
Back in March, Sonya sent an email about patrons having problems requesting items through GIL-Find. It appears that it is still happening. Here is a screenshot of the problem. A patron will request an item be sent from another campus, and then when they press "submit request" an error message will appear. There is no reason for the error message. The request will go through if you use GIL-Classic.

Counseling Services
It's a stressful time of year for students. The college has personal counselors on each campus, available when a student needs to talk with a professional.
There is a sign at the reference desk so students can find counselor contact information, but here's the information you you in another format. Our campus counselor is Marquita Johnson, phone #770-274-5166 or walk-in B-1306 (inside the International Admissions and Advising suite).
If Ms. Johnson is unavailable during normal business hours, students may call the access line at 770-278-1300 to speak with one of the other Perimeter College campus counselors.
If students (or anyone else) has an emergency need after hours or weekends, the number to call is 1-800-715-4225 for the Georgia Crisis and Access Line.

Citation guide
Hi everyone,
Tomorrow and next week I'm hosting an hour long citation help workshop. To help supplement the material for the class I created a guide that contains information on APA, MLA, and Chicago. It's published and findable on the research guide homepage.
Here is the URL for easy access though:
